Can iliopsoas bursitis be an early indicator of advancing hip osteoarthritis?

One of the most common causes groin pain in older patients is hip joint arthritis. We present 2 their 60’s with severe consistent iliopsoas bursitis and mild Co-existing setting arthritis a rare finding this created diagnostic therapeutic challenges. Medical records, imaging studies, surgeries for were reviewed. Both underwent ultrasound guided steroid aspirations injections into both bursa joints yielding little benefit. Within several months had radiographic progression degenerative leading to total replacement relief all symptoms. Coexisting has not been widely reported literature. propose that can be an early indicator advancing osteoarthritis.
